China's pavilion for the Shanghai Expo spans an area of over 160,100 square meters, making it the biggest national pavilion at the Expo.
Construction of the three-story structure started in December 2007 and after two years of hard work, the pavilion was finally finished in February, 2010. The project of building the Chinese pavilion has been a joint collaboration between Chinese citizens, or more precisely, netizens, and the Expo organizers.
China's pavilion will be the well-deserved landmark of the entire Expo site. Situated in the heart of the area, it is guaranteed to draw the attention of all visitors entering the area from the main entrance. The pavilion is composed of a national hall and a regional hall. Macao and Hong Kong both have their own pavilions.
